Grist Mill Reflections: Babcock State Park, WV

Babcock State Park was a quick stop along the New River Gorge scenic route  – a detour to see the “renowned” Grist Mill.  Said to be scenic and worth a stop.  OK, so we stopped.   Unfortunately the Grist Mill was closed on Mondays so we didn’t get to see it operate, but here are some photos all the same.

BTW, if you’re looking for a state park campground instead of a Fayetteville campground, Babcock State Park is the closest and best campground.  We didn’t stay here, but it looked wonderful!

Enjoy some photos!

I Loved the old stone visitor center/ranger station/gift store/snack spot at Babcock State Park, adjacent to the Grist Mill as you drive in.

Falls falls falls... more falls below the Grist Mill

Falls … more falls below the Grist Mill, just off the picnic deck at the ranger station.  Great place for lunch!

If you’re in the area and have a few minutes, be sure to stop & check out the Grist Mill … and if you have more time, the rest of Babcock State Park is supposed to be worthwhile as well.  Cheers!  Jan
