Day 1 in New Orleans… checked into the the fabulous French Quarter RV Resort. Location location location! Walked a couple blocks and we’re right in the middle of the French Quarter. Enjoy some photos – it’s Day 2 and I need to go explore!
If New Orleans is all about jazz, we needed to find some jazz! But the music from Bourbon Street wasn’t what I had imagined. The National Park Service Jazz History Visitors Center directed us to Frenchmen Street – more good advice from our National Park Service!
The Spotted Cat Music Club provided our first exposure to jazz. Note the sign at the door says “Leave Drama at the Door. Enjoy.”
Great music and great people watching. Great combination. No cover charge, just a one drink minimum per set. Best deal in NOLA!
Cash … a bar where everything’s cash? In 2015? Good thing we had cash, that’s not always the case! Drinks were inexpensive and the music just kept getting better. 🙂
The colors of Frenchmen Street …
Balconies and doors with shutters provide the perfect vantage point to watch people. Unfortunately we don’t have a balcony on our little Lance 1685.
Enjoying some street jazz …
After all that jazz, better do a little sightseeing and what better place to start than the St Louis Cathedral…
Votive candles might be a good idea after wandering the streets of the French Quarter in New Orleans. 🙂
More soon! Stay tuned! Cheers! Jan & David
