The Marquesas Atoll in the Florida Keys is an amazing place to camp. Only problem, is there’s no camping on the beaches and there is no other land than the beaches. So we spent some time here “camped” in our 37′ sailboat, s/v Winterlude.
The atoll is more than an ideal star gazing location … much more! From abandoned Cuban refugee boats … and refugees washing ashore … to dinghy snorkeling … to being strafed by the US Navy F-16 fighter jets….Click the link below to read about our adventure. The Navy does not have F16s
OK, so F18s or whatever the Navy is training on out of Key West Naval Air Station, Boca Chica. I do know that when they use your anchored boat as pretend targets and go zooming vertical that you’re so caught aback that you have NO idea of what just happened! They have P-3’s and P-5’s as well as other training aircraft and I guess F-18’s. So sorry! Cheers! Jan
So the guy above gave a single star because you called the wrong name of a navy plane? People and their reviews today! I for one like your review!
Thanks Robb! I guess some folks have time on their hands to pick apart whatever they happen to find. We’re too busy having fun to care! 🙂 Cheers! Jan
